Haridwar's main festivals are Kumbh Mela (fair) : Kumbh Mela is the largest fair in the India and celebrates every 12 years after. Kumbh mela destinations are Haridwar, Allahabad, Nasik and Ujjain; millions people come to bath holy rivers (Ganga, Godavari, Kshipra).
The ardh Mela: this is mini Kumbh Mela and celebrates every 6 years after. Now haridwar is celebrateing this (2010).

Kanwar Mela: this festival celebrates in July month every year and nearly up to 300,000 tourist come to bath in Ganga river.
Somvati Amavasya: this festival also celebrates in July month every year.
Kartik Purnima : 15 days after Diwali festival when first night of the full moon this festival celebration in November month.
kanwarias (Shravan Mela) : Shravan Mela celebration in July and august month every year. Kanwarias go their homes with holy Ganga water with on foot all paths.
